GOP push for tracking of all your internet activity

The House Republicans' first major technology initiative is about to be unveiled:
a push to force Internet companies to keep track of what their users are doing.

A House panel chaired by Rep. F. James Sensenbrenner of Wisconsin is scheduled to hold a hearing tomorrow morning to discuss forcing Internet providers, and perhaps Web companies as well,
to store records of their users' activities for later review by police.

6 threats to free and open access to the internet

who really monitors your internet activity?

ideas for activists & others facing authoritarian regimes:
1. understand risk assessment
2. beware of malware
3. choose the least risky communications channel
4. use encryption to prevent surveillance & censorship of your web usage
5. be careful of what & where you publish
6. should I use a Tor Bridge?
