Dragonfly or Insect Spy? Scientists at Work on Robobugs

""I look up and I'm like, 'What the hell is that?' They looked kind of like dragonflies or little helicopters. But I mean, those are not insects."

Out in the crowd, Bernard Crane saw them, too.

"I'd never seen anything like it in my life," the Washington lawyer said. "They were large for dragonflies. I thought, 'Is that mechanical, or is that alive?' "

That is just one of the questions hovering over a handful of similar sightings at political events in Washington and New York. Some suspect the insectlike drones are high-tech surveillance tools, perhaps deployed by the Department of Homeland Security."

MUSIC: B. Dolan - Film the Police

B. Dolan - Film the Police
ft. Toki Wright, Jasiri X, Buddy Peace, Sage Francis
(lyrics)
Intro (Sage Francis):
Right about now, the SFR court is in full effect!
Judge Sage presiding in the case of the People vs. The Police Department.
Prosecuting attorneys are: Toki Wright, Jasiri X and B motherfuckin’ Dolan.
Order! Order! Order! B. Dolan, take the motherfuckin’ stand.
Do you swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth?
(Dolan: You goddamn right.)

Then why don’t you tell everyone what the fuck they have the right to do?

Verse 1
(B. Dolan):
Film the Police. Run a tape for the underclass!
Get the face, name and number on the badge.
They flash, we flash back when they act disorderly.

React accordingly and capture all that we see…
Nightstick, Zip-ties, and Tasers.
Think they’re licensed for type vicious behavior.
Make a tight fist with a video trained toward the Pigs,
Like this. They trip & you make ‘em famous.
Explain to a Judge the bounds you oversteppin’.
2011 time to the change our method.
We aim lenses at the State’s weapon,
‘Til they remember whose goddamn streets they’re protecting.

They’d rather see me in a cell
Than me and my cell with a different story to tell.
Camcorder by the dash. Next time you get stopped,
Reach for the celly if you wanna shoot a cop.
On a public sidewalk, you can tape what you see,

Or film from your window with a view of the street!
Neighborhood Crime Watch, we police the Police.
They can’t arrest the whole community.
Because the streets clock. These cops occupying blocks,
Harassing the homeless with batons, pulling glocks.
They stop lawful protests and let off shots…
Abuse prostitutes and misuse power they got.
In memory of the victims who are never forgot,
We’ve gotta’ exercise our right to shed light in the dark.
There is an army on the march that doesn’t want you to watch.
You’ve got a weapon in your pocket whether you know it or not.
We, the people, are the only real media we got.
Let’s protect one another from the fucking goon squad.
Fascism’s coming to the U.S.A.
Eyo, Sage, I got something to say!

Verse 2 (Toki Wright):
Film the police! It’s time to make it our priority.
You see these fools are in abuse of their authority.
Crack a fist or you crack a whip.
But that ain’t power you coward, you beat a man with two shackled wrists.
So put their names up on a list next to an asterisk.
Next time you see ‘em blast a clip, then you flash a flick.
Attach a video and pic to your master list.
Be on the news at 6. YouTube views legit.
The cops watch us, so we gotta have the Cop Watchers.
Been in fear of law so long, so now it’s not awkward.
But what is law when it’s wrong. When you slam us on the floor.
Naw, this ain’t World Wrestling Entertainment Raw.
This is Edutainment, y’all. Got a call from B. Dolan.
You try to squabble with Johnny Law and get your meat swollen.
Why you think Bobby and Huey P. were heat holding?
You better load the footage up and get to key stroking.
And while you at it, send one off to the administration,
It’s indicating, all the physical intimidation.
It’s been too long they said to “bear with us.”
That’s when I run up on your caravan and rip off all your D.A.R.E. stickers.
This here is near Hitler’s; weirder than some mere tickets…
You feel privileged ’til your wife get her brassiere lifted.
You disappear quick as Hoffa if you piss a copper,
Off ya’ til you get a Channel 7 News helicopter.
Violence hides in a code of silence, tyrants hide in an alliance,
Quiet or be left somewhere, or get swept inside it.
It’s Goliath vs. a bigger giant.
Got us pulling over so far we ran a curb and hit a hydrant.
It’s systematic how the system has its symptoms,
Of the democratic law that’s been flawed since the pilgrims landed.
So now tell me what you wanna do? Next time you see the boys in blue,
You cock your camera back and point and shoot.

Verse 3 (Jasiri X):
Film the police! I got the Cannon 7D.
Highest definition for when they try to arrest and lynch ‘em,
Then lie and protest the whippin’, not serve and protect the victims.
Their murders, threats and hitmen…observe ‘em and let the witness be
The iphone. Never let bygones be bygones.
Get your flip cam before they get in the whip and ride on.
It’s vital ’cause our survival could depend on a video going viral,
With more viewers than American Idol.
Instead of having to bury a child who…
The cops shot ’cause they thought they carried a rifle.
Then the same cops will go to court and swear on a bible,
And smile to show the teeth that they’re preparing to lie through.
Whether Crips or Piru ,Vice Lords or Gangsta Disciples,
Make sure your camera lens gets an eyeful.
And they liable to try and confiscate it.
Better hold on to that shit like you’re constipated.
‘Cause they’ll pretend them injuries are not related,
Like, “When we arrived we saw him dive head first off the pavement.”
So keep the mini cam stashed in the dash of your mini van.
They’ll crash and smash on any man.
Pull out your Blackberry ’cause cops will take a shot at your black berry,
‘Til we see another black buried.
Don’t act scary, ’cause they’ll empty the gat on ya’,
Stand over your body just to sprinkle the crack on ya’.
Police attacking ya’. Don’t want to see they reflections like Dracula.
But camera’s capture ya’.
Too busy using your flashlight to batter us,
To notice John Singleton was my passenger.
So point, click and shoot they asses,
It’s the only way to get the real truth to the masses.
Jasiri X, I’m making movies like Spike Lee.
I won’t be a law and order special victim like Ice T.

Ahmadinejad mocks Romney

"Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is calling a visit to Israel by U.S. presidential candidate Mitt Romney as “kissing the foot” of the Jewish state to boost his bid for the White House.

Ahmadinejad did not specifically name Romney, but his comments were an unmistakable jab at the Republican contender’s stop this week in Israel. Romney strongly backed Israel’s drive to stop Iran from possibly seeking nuclear weapons. Tehran denies the claims.

Ahmadinejad questioned why Romney would make “concessions to get some pennies for (his) campaign?”

Harvard Study Finds Fluoride Lowers IQ

Fluoride Lowers IQ
"Harvard University researchers' review of fluoride/brain studies concludes "our results support the possibility of adverse effects of fluoride exposures on children's neurodevelopment."

"The children in high fluoride areas had significantly lower IQ than those who lived in low fluoride areas,"

Further, the EPA says fluoride is a chemical "with substantial evidence of developmental neurotoxicity."

Water was the only fluoride source in the studies reviewed and was based on high water fluoride levels. However, they point out research by Ding (2011) suggested that low water fluoride levels had significant negative associations with children's intelligence."

White House chef says future food to be made from chemicals, not real food ingredients

"Every two years, a consortium of Europe's most active minds converges at the Euroscience Open Forum to discuss the latest advancements in scientific research and innovation. But this year's meeting, which was held in Dublin, Ireland, featured a disturbing workshop held by White House executive pastry chef Bill Yosses, who explained and demonstrated to audience members how the food of the future will not actually contain real food, but rather various combinations of lab-created chemicals that mimic food.

"You take the (chemical) compounds and you make the dish," said Herve This of AgroParisTech, a science and research organization based in France, to RTE News in Ireland. "So you have no vegetables, no fruit, no meat, no fish, nothing except compounds. And you have to create a shape, a color, a taste, a freshness, a pungency, an astringency, everything," he added, likening traditional cooking methods such as "cracking eggs" and using real food ingredients to "living in the Middle Ages."

Proposed Bill Could Tax Bay Area Drivers a Dime per Mile Driven

"Once every four years, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) assembles and presents plans for improving traffic flow over the next 25 years. This year, as with years prior, the MTC needed to file an environmental impact report (EIR) with each proposed traffic-reduction proposal, which requires that they come up with several alternatives, should the original be too eco-harmful. One of the five options this year is to tax Bay Area drivers for the miles they drive in hopes of reducing driver traffic.

The bill, called Vehicle Miles Traveled, would require drivers to install tracking devices that would record driving distance. The price of the taxation would depend on what time of day the vehicle was on the road, but the cost could be as high as $0.10 per mile."

NSA boss wants more control over the net

"The decentralized nature of the Internet, and the fact that the global network is built from a thicket of independent public and private networks, is limiting efforts to protect against such attacks, said Alexander, because it doesn't allow the NSA or law enforcement to easily track Internet activity. "We do not sit around our country and look in; we have no idea if Wall Street is about to be attacked," said Alexander.

The NSA is already running a trial with 17 U.S. defense companies intended to demonstrate technology that could be deployed to change that. Under the Defense Industrial Base (DIB) Cyber Pilot, Lockheed Martin and other companies set up their computer security systems to automatically alert the agency when the alarm is tripped. They automatically pass a summary of what was detected and the IP address associated with the event to the NSA over the Internet. "All you need to pass is the fact of a signature and IP address in real time, and we can take it from there," said Alexander.

Alexander suggested that the NSA should be given a wider checkpoint role across the Internet to protect core infrastructure and all vital systems connected to it, drawing an analogy with an automatic road toll system. "What we need for cybersecurity is something analogous to that," he said. "Think of us as the EZ Pass on the highway."

U.S. poverty heads toward highest level in 50 years

"The ranks of America's poor are on track to climb to levels unseen in nearly half a century, erasing gains from the war on poverty in the 1960s amid a weak economy and fraying government safety net.

The Associated Press surveyed more than a dozen economists, think tanks and academics, both nonpartisan and those with known liberal or conservative leanings, and found a broad consensus: The official poverty rate will rise from 15.1 percent in 2010, climbing as high as 15.7 percent. Several predicted a more modest gain, but even a 0.1 percentage point increase would put poverty at the highest level since 1965."

Did Bobby Kennedy pay for Marilyn Monroe's killing?

"When movie goddess Marilyn Monroe’s naked body was found on her bed at her Hollywood home, it was assumed she had killed herself.

Devastated by tangled affairs with American President John F Kennedy and brother Bobby, the 36-year-old star of The Seven Year Itch and Some Like It Hot was said to have overdosed on sleeping pills.

But so many things didn’t add up that conspiracy theories began immediately.

Now, nearly 50 years after her death on August 5, 1962, a bombshell book claims to finally reveal who murdered Marilyn.

Investigative author Darwin Porter – who knew the star – claims five Mafia hoodlums working under orders from mob boss Sam Giancana carried out the hit.

But he believes Bobby, who secretly visited Marilyn with his British brother-in-law Peter Lawford hours before she died, had a lot to do with her death."

Batman Shooter: "why am I here?"

"Accused mass murderer James Holmes told jailhouse workers that he remains stumped about what landed him in a Colorado lockup, a jail staffer told the Daily News.

“He claims he doesn’t know why he’s in jail,” the worker said Thursday. “He asked, ‘Why am I here?’”

(commentary)
The James Holmes case seems to unsurprisingly draw many parallels to that of Sirhan Sirhan the alleged assassin of Robert F. Kennedy. In both cases the defendant seemed drugged and downright out of wack, both claiming amnesia in the aftermath. In Sirhans situation, psychologists proved the claim to be true. The CIA initially declassified documents from 1950 which revealed the existence of drugs they had both produced and experimented with which were capable of altering the state of human psyche, including for the topical use of mind control, and subsequent amnesia. There's no denying how drugged James Holmes appeared at the proceedings:

Also relevant is the fact that similar to the recent shooting in Arizona involving Jared Lee Loughner, both candidates were fascinated by the ideas regarding mind control. Loughner sites “sleepwalking” during the day and “conscience dreaming” in his own various ramblings and videos. A video of a speech given by James Holmes at the age of 18 shows him referring to topics such as 'temporal illusions', which he defines as "an illusion that allows you to change the past", and 'subjective experience' "what takes place inside the mind as opposed to the external world":

Flickering lights help smartphones keep time

"Your smartphone is probably losing track of time. Most electronics with internal clocks keep them regulated via vibrating crystals (much like a quartz clock) that keep their timekeeping precise. But while far better timekeepers than mechanical clocks, even these crystals can be thrown off their regular frequencies by external factors like humidity or temperature. Which is why scientists at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology think you’re better off syncing your clock to your overhead lights.

Smartphone clocks can drift by up to 10 seconds a day, and if you’re one of the many people who rarely syncs up your handheld with your computer or otherwise docks with some mothership computer online, that means you could pretty quickly start drifting by whole minutes."

Eyewitness misidentification is the most common cause of wrongful conviction in US

"Eyewitness misidentification is the single greatest cause of wrongful convictions nationwide, playing a role in nearly 75% of convictions overturned through DNA testing.

While eyewitness testimony can be persuasive evidence before a judge or jury, 30 years of strong social science research has proven that eyewitness identification is often unreliable. Research shows that the human mind is not like a tape recorder; we neither record events exactly as we see them, nor recall them like a tape that has been rewound. Instead, witness memory is like any other evidence at a crime scene; it must be preserved carefully and retrieved methodically, or it can be contaminated."

Red Flag On Biometrics: Iris Scanners Can Be Tricked

"it’s possible to spoof a biometric iris scanning system using synthetic images derived from real irises. The Madrid-based security researcher’s talk is timely, coming on the heels of a July 23 Israeli Supreme Court hearing where the potential vulnerabilities of a proposed governmental biometric database drove the debate. Consider the week’s events a reminder that if the adoption of biometric identification systems continues apace without serious contemplation of the pitfalls, we’re headed for trouble.

When it comes to the collection and storage of individuals’ digital fingerprints, iris scans, or facial photographs, system vulnerability is a chief concern. A social security number can always be cancelled and reissued if it’s compromised, but it’s impossible for someone to get a new eyeball if an attacker succeeds in seizing control of his or her digital biometric information.

Among all the various biometric traits that can be measured for machine identification--such as fingerprints, face, voice, or keystroke dynamics--the iris is generally regarded as being the most reliable. Yet Galbally’s team of researchers has shown that even the method traditionally presumed to be foolproof is actually quite susceptible to being hacked."

Working Assault Rifle made with a 3-D Printer

"An amateur gunsmith, operating under the handle of "HaveBlue" (incidentally, "Have Blue" is the codename that was used for the prototype stealth fighter that became the Lockheed F-117), announced recently in online forums that he had successfully printed a serviceable .22 caliber pistol.

Despite predictions of disaster, the pistol worked. It successfully fired 200 rounds in testing.

HaveBlue then decided to push the limits of what was possible and use his printer to make an AR-15 rifle. To do this, he downloaded plans for an AR-15 in the Solidworks file format from a site called CNCGunsmith.com. After some small modifications to the design, he fed about $30 of ABS plastic feedstock into his late-model Stratasys printer. The result was a functional AR-15 rifle. Early testing shows that it works, although it still has some minor feed and extraction problems to be worked out."

Just a face in a crowd? Scans pick up ID, personal data

"Businesses foresee a day when signs and billboards with face-recognition technology can instantly scan your face and track what other ads you’ve seen recently, adjust their message to your tastes and buying history and even track your birthday or recent home purchase. The FBI and other U.S. law enforcement agencies already are exploring facial-recognition tools to track suspects, quickly single out dangerous people in a crowd or match a grainy security-camera image against a vast database to look for matches.

Many fear that future is coming too quickly, with facial-recognition technology becoming increasingly advanced, available and affordable before restrictions on its use can be put into place. Concerns have been raised on Capitol Hill in recent weeks that FBI searches using the technology could trample Fourth Amendment protections against unreasonable search and seizure, while some in the industry say excessive regulations could cripple cutting-edge technology."

Obama's message to Americans: we own you

"core message [of Obama's recent speech], combined with other red-light indicators of a radically leftist political philosophy which includes wealth redistribution, is the message of the almighty and sovereign State:

"We own you."

Without the State, you are nothing.  All your abilities, your intellect, your individuality, your work, your dreams, and the fruits of your labor would never happen without the federal government.  Where would you be without us?  We allowed you, along with the rest of the amorphous and indistinguishable masses constituting the collective, to thrive.

You owe everything to the State.

What you eat, where you sleep, and how you earn your daily bread are because of the State's munificence.  Everything is a gift to you from the State, in which you live and move and have your being.

Do you really think you as a mere individual built and therefore own your business?  Do you think you are entitled to "your" profits?  We built the infrastructure that supports your endeavor; therefore, we can tax you as we please.  Your initiative and hard work are merely part of the entire labor pool, a small slice of the community of others."

He was in the car with one or two of his friends and another girl.

He stepped on his brake, turned to get a better look, and was shot 5 times. He was never told to get out of the car. He was given no warning."

humans blamed for neanderthal extinction

"About 40,000 years ago, a huge volcanic eruption west of what is now Naples, Italy, showered ash over much of central and Eastern Europe. Some researchers have suggested that this super-eruption, combined with a sharp cold spell that hit the Northern Hemisphere at the same time, created a “volcanic winter” that did in the Neandertals. But a new study of microscopic particles of volcanic glass left behind by the explosion concludes that the eruption happened after the Neandertals were already mostly gone, putting the blame for their extinction on competition with modern humans."

Humans killed this animal, caused the extinction of this species, blah blah blah, ad lib species here, awful humans. Just because they excluded one hypothesis doesn't mean the most noxious one is correct.

FBI and JTTF Raid Multiple Homes, Grand Jury Subpoenas

"Three homes were raided in Portland, by approximately 60-80 police including FBI and Joint Terrorism Task Force. Individuals at the homes say police used flash grenades during the raid.

Grand jury subpoenas have been served to individuals in all three cities: 2 in Olympia, 1 in Seattle, and 2 in Portland. The grand jury is scheduled to convene on August 2nd at the federal courthouse in Seattle.

No arrests have been made. Electronics were confiscated along with additional personal items.

All legal documents related to the searches and grand jury are sealed, and the FBI will only say it is related to an “ongoing violent crime” investigation. But based on interviews with residents, and what police told them at the scene, this is clearly related to the ongoing demonization of anarchists and the Occupy movement."

(commentary)
"no arrests"? Sounds like busting balls to me. Sure they were disappointed when they didn't find anything incriminating on hand. Flash bangs are a little excessive, no?

Ron Paul's Audit the Fed bill overwhelmingly passes House

END THE FED
"In a rare moment of bipartisanship, the House overwhelmingly passed a bill by Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) to audit the Federal Reserve.

The bill, which has 270 co-sponsors, passed 327 to 98. All but one Republican -- Rep. Bob Turner of New York -- voted for it, along with 89 Democrats.

Paul teamed up with former Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.) in 2010 to pass similar legislation that became part of the final Wall Street reform bill. But Paul has said new audit legislation is needed because the 2010 bill didn't go far enough. Specifically, he states on his website that the audit called for in the 2010 bill only focused on emergency credit programs and procedural issues, rather than on the substantive details of the lending transactions. The 2012 bill doesn't limit the focus of the audit."

Gates Foundation gives $10million to support Genetically Modified cereal crops

"British scientists at the John Innes Center recently won a $10 million grant from the Gates Foundation. Where’s the money going? Not surprisingly, as Gates owns over 500,000 shares of Monsanto stock, the organization is putting even more money into genetically modified cereal crops (corn, wheat and rice, to name a few).

The pledge seems righteous at face value to some, but what the Gates Foundation failed to mention is that countries like Hungary, France, India, and Poland have battled GMOs because not only do GM seeds and pesticides decrease yields over time, but GM is bad news for farmers and consumers everywhere. Putting farmers in Africa in the pockets of the likes of Monsanto and other GM companies will only lead to crop monoculture, soil depletion, water contamination, pesticide-resistant insects, and a powerless local population of sick and impoverished farmers.

And this should be of no surprise to Bill Gates, who has openly stated that Monsanto’s GMOs are the ultimate ‘solution’ to world hunger yet continues to ignore the bounty of evidence showing that they do just the opposite — crushing soil yields and impoverishing local farmers.

Perhaps even more devastating is the rising suicide toll associated with the use of Monsanto’s seeds, with a farmer committing suicide every 30 minutes thanks in part due to GMO seeds."

Company Flow - patriotism

Company Flow - patriotism (lyrics)
[El-Producto]
Do you know who you are? Do you know who you are fucking with?
Do you know, the access, to weapons, money and power that we have? We will fucking kill you!

I'm the ugliest version of passed down toxic capitalist
rapid emcee perversion -- I'm America!
Your bleeding-heart liberal drivel gets squashed
Wash em with sterilized rhyme patriot-guided weaponry bomb
from the makers of the devious hearts -- I'm America!
You bitchy little dogs don't even phase my basic policy
The bomb's smarter, my Ronald Reagan's crush Carter
With Bay of Pig tactics making young men into martyrs
(Come on down!) Come to my happy promised land
Smiley faced opportunity cypher
and jump on the CoFlow pension plan
A proletariat, crushing State of the Union
between serpentine words and mass confusion
of media controlled blurb advertising disillusionment
Your family will love my low-rent, low-life
no-brain, reality-dagger, MOVEMENT
Hop over the border for amusement; try to test the waters
that the other slaughter crews pay all they dues in
You up against -- Jesus Freak, formin corporations in Young Republicans
Indelible NATO force hidden agenda, puppet governments
I'm lovin it! Keep the people guessin who I'm runnin with
Control the population and hide behind sacred covenants
Fuckin with me?!?! Means liberal wildlife burnin, gasoline seized
and an automagnetic third world printed with metal plates in they knees
Can't you hear the disenchanted, hide the scream of
Gabriel's reflected new wind instrument, a judgment played in flat C
I replace humans like robots in a GM factory (warning! warning!)
Then export metaphors to sweat shops, cause the price is satisfactory
Your pious little cries of injustice get met with apathy
(Awww, SHUT UP!!) Soak, cloak, hormone injected dairy product
and conservative right-wing anti-eroticism; the poisonous
resevoirs and power lines in your neighborhood cause botchilism
SENSELESS! Join the census, censorship sentences sentence
Triple-felon citizen paid pennance!
Dissension against C-F ends in, penetentiary residence
Lock em up first, then ask questions
Omniscient presence, my CHARM is the weapon
with cameras mics and satellites that leave privacy breathless
You don't even know the chemicals you've ingested
Urine tested -- BEAT INNOCENT MAN 'TIL HE CONFESSES

I'm America arrogant!! Terminus verbal curfew murders
You either purchase my products or you're worthless, that's my service!
Don't look into the oculars of a daylight saver
Eraser, city-headed momument defacer comprising of
patriot droids, sent into the void with lead linings
Employed by the bureaucrats of automatic twisted rhyme timing
You're guaranteed nothing but my fat little finger
that lingers one inch off of the big button -- LET'S START THIS!
I'm Saran gas, hide in your apartments
I'm stealth like a robot hidden in the fat asshole of Cartman
And give a crippling fuck like sand sharkskin condom
to your apparent vaginal problem - the hottest shit on Soundbombing
I'm American til infinite justice measure to Pesticide Cemetary
Invite you to cross the border then SHIT on your divinities
What language is that? I'm angusih in fact, tangle with a
star-spangled standard issue gat for crowd management
Talk loud and get enshrouded in a hot cloud of harassment
by the crowd force of my mental pedestrian checker,
that smashes subordinate skulls and update the file in your dental records
You tryin to get a light but yet the crowd is my paid hecklers (BOO! BOO!)
You just stepped into the spectrum of paranoid word rainbows
Thinkin you sick with a sihlouette, burn transit cop out his plain clothes
I'm America!! This is where the pain grows like poppies
in a Field of Dreams I paid for, I'll burn it down if operated sloppily
COPY? My economic sanction rhyme style got your syllables
scraping for rice and riding in a pre-1960 jalopy
My favorite flavour of gas is mustard
I'm fuckin a blind hermaphrodite icon and convincin you that it's justice!

Gun sales spike over 40% after Batman massacre

"Background checks for people wanting to buy guns in Colorado jumped more than 41 percent after Friday morning's shooting at an Aurora movie theater, and firearms instructors say they're also seeing increased interest in the training required for a concealed-carry permit."

 (commentary)
It appears the governments false flag to increase restrictions on firearms, backfired.
