QUOTE: Albert Pike - beasts of burden

“Those who will not use their own brain,
they are nothing more than meat on the table
and beasts of burden by choice and consent.”
- Albert Pike (1809-1891) *Morals & Dogma*

I have done a search on every single chapter of Morals and Dogma, and I have not found the above "quote", so unless you can at least give me the chapter in which it can be found, I would recommend that you take this down before you discredit yourself and the rest of us.

The correctly worded reference comes from Silent weapons for Quiet Wars. See Bill cooper, Behold a Pale Horse.

The quote is not recorded correctly. Someone used a quote of another person describing Albert Pikes words on subject. The correct quote is...
"Of the whole of mankind, not one in ten thousand has any aspi-rations beyond the daily needs of the gross animal life. In this age and in all others, all men except a few, in most countries, are born to be mere beasts of burden, co-laborers with the horse and the ox. Profoundly ignorant, even in "civilized" lands, they think and reason like the animals by the side of which they toil" - Chapter XVIII, Morals and Dogma by Albert Pike. Find it by googling, as usual.
Pike also said, "The Blue Degrees are but the outer court or portico of the Temple. Part of the symbols are displayed there to the Initiate, but he is intentionally misled by false interpretations. It is not intended that he shall understand them; but it is intended that he shall imagine he understands them. Their true explication is reserved for the Adepts, the Princes of Masonry."
In so many words, the misquote is correct in subject matter, Pike consider most people useful tools who chose to be such.
