New Mexico wildfire threatens world largest nuclear weapons lab

 

For the second time

a raging wildfire is threatening to engulf the Los Alamos National Laboratory,

the birthplace of the atomic bomb.

Los Alamos likely contains more nuclear weapons than any other facility in the world.

Approximately 30,000 barrels filled with several metric tons of radioactive plutonium

stored in fabric tents outside the facility.
