Yesterday, the Mexican military discovered a ‘monster’ armored vehicle factory in the border city of Camargo, Mexico. The factory and repair shop was maintained and operated by the criminal organization known as Los Zetas.
Over 24 of these Mad Max-style vehicles and a weapons cache were confiscated. Several sources say that the vehicles were used mostly to transport armed personnel and heavy loads of narcotics to the Rio Grande, where the drugs would later be picked up by smugglers on the U.S. side of the border. The vehicles would help Los Zetas transport the drugs to the U.S. border without the risk of being ambushed by Gulf Drug Cartel operatives.
